I'll Take the Rain

Torino sembra essere l'unica città in cui può piovere per sempre. O meglio proprio quando sono in bicicletta, per smettere non appena entro in casa. Di sicuro, il fronteggiarla così tante volte porta a fare strani pensieri sulla sua natura, a non vederla come qualcosa da subire passivamente, ma, in qualche modo, come un elemento da affrontare, con cui mettersi alla prova. Metaforicamente e non. E questo ci porta al videoclip di oggi.

I'll Take The Rain fu il terzo singolo estratto da Reveal (2001), uno degli album dei R.E.M. a cui sono più legato. Il videoclip è diretto da David Weir, il quale successivamente è pressoché scomparso. Sebbene non l'abbia mai compreso del tutto fino in fondo, mi ha sempre ipnotizzato e commosso, per l'atmosfera che riesce a creare.

Per quando riguarda la pioggia invece, forse l'attiriamo con le nostre azioni, forse ce la meritiamo. Forse dovremmo tutti trasferirci nel deserto.
